Contractors needing to register with the City of Bloomington's Grants Management Division will need to complete the application below and return it with a copy of your certificate of insurance (which includes workman comp for any employees). We also need a tax i.d. number and social security number of the principle owner of the firm.
Code Compliance requires the following insurance coverages:
- Comprehensive Public Liability: no less than $1,000,000 for injuries including accidental death to any person, per accident and $2,000,000 in the aggregate for policy term.
- Workers Compensation and Employees Liability: not less than $100,000 per person for employers liability.
- Auto Insurance: for injuries or damages caused by the contractor’s vehicle on the job site, a minimum combined single liability limit of $500,000.
Contractors will not be added to the Economic & Community Development list until they have been approved by Building Safety. Once we have received your completed application and insurance, and it has been reviewed and approved, you will be sent a letter confirming your status as an approved contractor. You will then start receiving bid notifications of Community Enhancement rehab jobs.
PLEASE NOTE: Before any work can proceed on City loans a contractor application and certificate of insurance needs to be turned into our office, and you need to be a registered contractor with Building Safety.
